STUART A volunteer at the Salvation Army Family Store found about $20,000 cash inside a trench coat pocket that was donated to the nonprofit Friday.
The coat s owner was contacted, who then donated a portion of the money back to the Salvation Army as a thank you. You find $5 here or $10 there…but it’s not very often that you come across that kind of money in the pocket of someone’s coat, said store manager Marco Cruz.
Both the volunteer who found the money and the donor wished to remain anonymous, in addition to the amount donated.
The donor, a woman visiting the area to clear out her recently deceased in-law s Stuart home, had scheduled for the Salvation Army to take everything, Cruz said furniture, clothes and all.

Purdue University held it s 2021 graduation commencement inside Ross-Ade Stadium. Over 5,000 students had their degrees conferred in front of friends and family.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue University held it s 2021 graduation commencement on May 15 for over 5,000 students inside Ross-Ade Arena. Graduates had their degrees conferred in front of thousands of family and friends in person for the first time since 2019.

The history of Purdue graduates says so. The character you demonstrated this last year when your embrace of the Purdue pledge enabled this place to stay open at all clearly says so.

Paul Madero walked into downtown s Fox Tucson Theatre mobile vaccination site following almost a month in the hospital thanks to a mountain bike accident. Madero s daughter, April Madero, had already gotten her family vaccinated, but was unable to get her father an appointment. April saw the Fox Theater offered vaccinations without an appointment and brought her father.
Madero, 65, did not have much hesitation as his daughter made the appointment for him. She s the one that made the appointment, so I figured it was safe, said Madero.
On recent Friday nights, as some people were heading home from their jobs and others were headed out for a night at now-open bars and clubs, the Fox opened its doors, not for a show, but to provide no-appointment walk-in Moderna vaccinations.
