After putting down some roots, albeit temporary, in Winter Garden, Florida, we decided to take a quick jaunt over to the neighboring city of Winter Park. As we wandered down South Park Avenue, picturesque with its multitude of different awnings belonging to a variety of shops, we stumbled upon the quaintest farmerâs market bustling with people in the nearby park. The market was chalk full of an eclectic array of everything you could ever possibly want or need: fresh fruits and veggies, flowers, plants, kombucha, nitro cold brew, coffee beans from around the world, Pakistani food, baked goods, raw smoothies and cold-pressed juices, among others.

I looked up at my husband sitting across from me at the dinette in our RV. The sun had just set in the Austin sky, painting it with the perfect blend of pink and blue that looks just like cotton candy.
I was playing tug-o-war between my mind and my heart. Feeling guilty for even uttering the words, I finally took a deep breath and said, âIs it just me, or do you feel out of alignment recently?â
To my surprise, he agreed.
This is how it goes. See, the beauty of living in a house on wheels is that you have the freedom and flexibility to come and go as you please, and if youâre no longer connecting with a certain environment, you have the power to change it. The challenge is in choosing to radically embrace the unknown, listening and trusting the wisdom of your heart and surrendering to the flow.

We rode past the most serene lake, just a few ripples from a paddling kayaker ever so slightly disturbing the waterâs peace.
RV life lends itself to plenty of biking opportunities, and the trails here just north of Austin, Texas, are full of hidden treasures. One minute youâre riding through a narrow trail, lined with huge oak trees towering over your headâthe next, youâre zipping by all sorts of cacti and aloe vera plants.
As we continued riding along, we stumbled upon the most magical sight. Nestled in the wooded trails was a Wishing Tree! All different shapes and sizes of paper donned the tree, tied with various multi-colored yarn, each containing a wish. Some were as simple as âI wish my brothers would play with me,â while others wished to âlive more in the moment.â
Itâs a fairly common fantasyâhitting the open road in an RV, leaving the daily grind of life behind.
But in a world where itâs more often retirees with the time and savings to make that happen, 32-year-old Marisa Battaglia of Hamburg turned it into a reality.
Last year, she and her husband sold their house and 80 percent of their possessions and began living in their RV, full-time.
âWe are trying to live our truth,â explained Battaglia, who runs B Sweet Designs, a wedding and events business, and whose husbandâs job also allows for remote work.
Marisa Battaglia journaling, which she does âevery day, religiously.â
