One more new airport for Albania
Yesterday, 21st April, Albania signed a contract worth $125 million with a Swiss consortium to construct Vlora International Airport, AP reports. The consortium will also have a 35-year concession to operate the airport.

TIRANA (Albania), April 21 (SeeNews) - A consortium led by Swiss-based Mabco Constructions, a subsidiary of Mabetex Group, has signed a contract for the construction of an international airport near Albania’s southwestern port city of Vlora, Mabco Constructions said.
The airport, which will include a 3.2-kilometre runway, is expected to serve up to 2 million passengers per year, Mabco Constructions said in a statement.
The airport will be the country s first to offer aircraft maintenance services.
Construction is expected to start within 14 months, daily Tirana Times reported on Tuesday.

TIRANA, Albania Albania on Tuesday signed a contract with a Swiss-based consortium to build a 104 million-euro ($125 million) new international airport.
Lugano-based Mabco Constructions will make preparatory work, environmental, archaeological and other paper work in about two years and then complete the new airport in 36 months.
The Vlora International airport will be located 150 kilometres (90 miles) southwest of the capital, Tirana, close to the Narta Lagoon and the Vjosa River.
It will have a 3.2-kilometre (2-mile) runway and is planned to be able to handle up to 2 million passengers a year.
