PDD daily wagers demand release of pending wages

SRINAGAR, July 30: The daily wagers of the Power Development Department (PDD) from Budgam today protested against the non-payment of their wages for the last several years.
Scores of such workers appeared here and were seen protesting against the department for making them suffer for the last several years.
The protestors said that they have been working in the department since 2012 and until 2019, they were getting the wages.
“However, in the year 2019, the Executive Engineer stopped our wages and we were told to contact the concerned officials since then we are running from pillar to post,” Rafiq Ahmad, one of the protestors said.

SRINAGAR, May 18: BJPâs Kashmir Unit today said if prevailing COVID-19 lockdown will be successful; it will benefit the people in long run and briefed Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh about the prevailing situation in the Valley and partyâs response to crisis.
Partyâs Kashmir media in-charge and youth leader, Manzoor Bhat said if the present lockdown will be successful, it will benefit people in the long run. He said once the lockdown remains successful and Pandemic is contained then there are chances that it will be lifted.
Bhat said the present situation needs patience and lockdown is the only solution to overcome the present crisis in the Valley. Now police, doctors, and other frontline workers are working day and night to contain the deadly virus and people have also understood the gravity of the situation.
