5 years after Silver City Galleria Mall stabbing, what has changed?

TAUNTON  It s been five years since the harrowing stabbings of May 10, 2016, which took the lives of two Taunton residents, as well as the attacker himself.  Arthur DaRosa, who was 28 at the time and was later described as mentally disturbed, went on a rampage through Taunton, stabbing and killing 80-year-old Patricia Slavin in her home and 56-year-old George Heath in the Bertucci s restaurant at the Silver City Galleria mall. Slavin s daughter was also badly wounded, and Heath died protecting a pregnant waitress at the restaurant. DaRosa was shot to death by an off-duty sheriff s deputy at the mall.  At the time, two issues were identified as contributing to DaRosa s being able to wreak such destruction. 

Man wanted in shooting death of St Joseph woman arrested

shooting death of a 25-year-old woman in St. Joseph has been taken into custody. was arrested by officers around 10:30 last night without incident. No details are being released at this time. Police had been searching for Hadden since February 23rd. which critically wounded 25-year-old Minda Miller. Police at the time said Miller sustained a life-threatening wound. The Christmas lights display, which closed Jan. 2, drew approximately 44,100 visitors in 2020 to Lakeside Park, a 98 percent increase over the number of visitors in 2019.  The data came from a mobile phone study for Lakeside Park. “The 30th anniversary went better than expected,” said Mindy Miller, events coordinator for the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce. “I think, at times, we were overwhelmed with the crowds, in a good way.
