Coordinator for the PSA, Shereens Saloojee says Saturday marks 73 years of “Palestinian Occupation and Zionist Settler Colonialism.”
“These seven decades have been characterised by oppression, aggression, racism, and a genocidal siege on the indigenous people of Palestine,” says Saloojee.
“To mark our solidarity with the people of Palestine and noting the ongoing massacre of innocent civilians especially in Gaza, we call on all freedom-loving people who value humanity to join us in our call to government to break all relations with apartheid Israel.”

The final report of the parliamentary inquiry into historical gay and transgender hate crimes in NSW, which recommends the establishment of a judicial inquiry into unsolved murders, has been welcomed by the state’s leading LGBTQ health organisation, ACON.
ACON CEO Nicolas Parkhill said a judicial inquiry will shed further light on a dark chapter in NSW’s history and help with healing the pain and trauma experienced by many people as a result of these events.
“The attacks committed against sexuality and gender diverse people in NSW over decades have left a painful legacy for the loved ones of victims, survivors, their families, and the entire community, which was compounded by the slow and inadequate responses to many of these crimes,” Parkhill said. “ACON strongly supports a further judicial inquiry, as recommended in the final report into the inquiry.”

Sydney councils have embarked on an outdoor gym building frenzy with dozens of fitness stations installed across the city, but there are concerns the unmonitored facilities could injure newcomers.
Luke Del Vecchio, a lecturer in sport and exercise science at Southern Cross University, said outdoor gyms may encourage older adults and women to exercise but there was no clear consensus among researchers and the benefits were limited without guidance on how to use the equipment properly.
Tamarama’s outdoor gym will be getting an upgrade alongside the new one at Varna Park: the seventh along Waverley Council’s coastal walk.
