EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. â Students at Bell Top Elementary School are pretty lucky. They have access to learning opportunities that not a lot of other schools have - for example, they get to be sugar maple farmers in the spring and apple cider makers in the fall.
In addition to these seasonal activities, they ve also got something that benefits the student body as a whole every day that school is in session.
Meet Auggie, the Bell Top Elementary School therapy dog.

EAST GREENBUSH - Students at Bell Top Elementary School in East Greenbush are celebrating maple syrup season.
They got a lesson in the three states of matter, the liquid sap that turns into a gas when they boil it and then it becomes solid as maple sugar candy.
First grade teacher Melanie Lyte says Tuesday s warmer weather gets the sap running.
The school got a grant about 25 years ago for a barn where all the magic happens.
