Candidate Night to be held on April 24

• Alan Slavin (incumbent) • Patricia Wurts (write-in candidate) Candidates who are running for office but have not yet confirmed their attendance including Ronald Besse, who is running for School Committee have been invited and may choose to attend.  The event will be broadcast live on WCTV’s Public (Comcast 9, Verizon 30) and Government (Comcast 95, Verizon 29) channels.  Anyone interested in watching who doesn’t have a television can tune in to the event on WCTV’s website at www.warehamtv.org, by hovering their cursor over the “Watch” tab, navigating down to “Live Streams” and selecting either the Public or Government streams. Alternatively, the event will also be streaming on WCTV’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/warehamtv.

Water-side work on the marina proposed for the old Greer Lumber site at 59 Main St., right next to Besse Park, is one step closer to moving forward, following the Conservation Commission’s unanimous approval during an April 7 meeting. Businessman and Wareham native Danny Warren’s plan for a commercial marina along the Wareham River was the Conservation Commissioners’ focus on Wednesday night.

Wareham Concom OKs marina work at 59 Main St., first step in riverside development Wicked Local WAREHAM - Plans to develop a function center-restaurant, restaurant and ice cream shop on the Wareham River at 59 Main St. got a boost with the Conservation Commission’s unanimous approval of its first phase – a commercial marina. The Conservation Commission was asked to consider the project, proposed by Danny Warren, from the water or marina side.   The commercial marina plan approved features floating docks along the existing bulkhead with 15 finger piers going out from those floats, including one extending 48 feet into the river and one extending 56 feet. Fourteen slips will be created. It will include 860 linear feet of dock.
