Sand Springs City Council Rescinds Mask Mandate
The Sand Springs City Council unanimously voted to lift its mandate Monday and a second emergency vote to end the mandate immediately passed 5-2. We will continue to monitor the levels of COVID infections in our community and if appropriate we won t be shy about bringing back a recommendation to look at other measures that are appropriate, said Sand Springs City Manager Mike Carter.
The City of Sand Springs has had an active mask mandate in place since November but dropping COVID numbers encouraged the Council to move ahead without the mandate going forward.

The Sand Springs City Council is scheduled to vote on whether or not to lift the city s mask mandate at Monday night s city council meeting. If they were to decide to lift that mandate, it would not take place immediately. As with all votes, there is a 30 day holding period after the decision.

Council mentioned in March they have seen COVID-19 numbers drop within the city drastically since the beginning of the year.
