Brezza loot: Car showroom staffer, 3 others arrested | Noida News

Greater Noida: The Ghaziabad police have claimed to have solved Greater Noida’s Brezza loot case, with the arrest of four accused including a car showroom employee and a vehicle workshop owner, while their Gautam Budh Nagar counterparts are yet to make any apparent headway. On March 14, 27-year-old Anu Dhanda and her daughter were driven for 300 metres by two of the accused who allegedly forcefully entered the vehicle when her husband Nishant (29), a civil engineer, had parked their Brezza near the Migsun cut in Greater Noida’s Omicron 3 and stepped out to buy some vegetables for the house. The mother and daughter were held hostage for a few minutes and dumped 300 metres away.

2 illegal liquor units busted in Gzb, 8 held | Noida News

Ghaziabad: Two illegal liquor manufacturing units have been busted in Masuri and Niwari in the last two days and eight persons have been arrested. Both factories, police said, were supplying liquor to various districts ahead of the panchayat polls. The first search was conducted at a house in Masuri on Sunday night, when six persons were arrested. SP (rural) Iraz Raja said, “Every day, they would manufacture 50 boxes of liquor and sell them under the brand names of Miss India and Good Morning,” he added. During questioning, the accused told the cops about one more unit in Niwari area. TNN

OHIO EDISON As the viral outbreak forced people to spend more time at home, Ohio Edison focused on revamping its service. The company completed grid modernization, improving electric service reliability for more than 200,000 customers in the Mahoning Valley, according to spokeswoman Lauren Siburkis. Also, more than 20 new automated reclosing devices, which operate similar to a circuit breaker in a home, were installed, limiting frequency, duration and scope of some service interruptions. In addition, 11 miles of existing power lines were replaced with a thicker, more durable wire and new utility poles were installed to support the new lines.

YOUNGSTOWN Lowellville resident Jennifer Johnson says Aqua Ohio has worked to diversify at leadership levels, as well as on the front line. Johnson visited the Rotary Club of Youngstown meeting Wednesday to speak about Aqua Ohio, where she works as area manager. She gave a quick history of the company and an outline of local capital improvement projects that can be expected. Johnson also briefly touched upon her duties as the first female area manager of Aqua Ohio in the state. “It makes me proud,” she said, as the water business is what she described as a “male-dominated industry.” Johnson said she has not met adversity, but people still assumed she was a secretary and not a member of management. Her role, she said, made her work harder at “overcoming any stereotype.”

COLUMBIANA Maksis Ancis Grins, 100, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021, at his home in Columbiana. Maksis was born on December 2, 1920, in Daudzumos, Latvia, son of Karlis and Milda Grins. They lived in the area of Iles Pagasta and he went to school in Jaunpile, and Abguldes Agricultural School. He then married Veronika Murkskis on September 8, 1940. Daughter, Aija, was born on May 28, 1943, and later that year the three of them escaped the war in Latvia and traveled to West Germany. Daughter, Inta, was born July 9, 1946. When Latvia was overtaken by communists, the family acquired immigration sponsorship by the Howard Holloway family through the Church World Services, and traveled by boat and train to the Holloway farm in Fairfield Township in 1949, where they worked for three years.
