POTTSVILLE â Cooperation on fighting the COVID-19 pandemicâs effects on Schuylkill Countyâs government dominated Wednesdayâs discussion among President Judge William E. Baldwin, the commissioners and the row officers.
âWe have made many changes. Itâs working well,â Register of Wills and Clerk of the Orphansâ Court Theresa Santai-Gaffney said.
Until the last segment â in which Clerk of Courts Maria T. Casey reiterated her demand that Baldwin close the courthouse to the public, and the judge just as resolutely said he would do no such thing.
âWe all wear masks. I bring in my own disinfectants. We spray and we clean and we do the best we can,â Casey said.
POTTSVILLE â Preventing the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic is on the agenda starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday when the Schuylkill County commissioners meet separately with each row officer to discuss existing precautions they are taking and the possible need for others.

OâPake, Prothonotary Bridget McGowan Miller, Recorder of Deeds Ann Dudish, Register of Wills Theresa Gaffney, Sheriff Joseph G. Groody and Treasurer Linda L. Marchalk.
