$23m Beaconsfield aged care home to create 90 jobs

Premium Content Subscriber only A $23.4 million aged care facility that will generate 70 jobs during construction and employ up to 90 local staff once operational is expected to get the green light. The Mackay Regional Council is expected to approve concessions for the RSL Care Bolton Clarke development in Beaconsfield, filling a gap in the needs of aged care in the city. Developer and operator Bolton Clarke, formerly RSL Care, has the existing Mackay Breezes Senior Living Community on Beaconsfield Rd which consists of 88 Independent Living Units. The company holds development approval for a further 107 ILUs, and the council on Wednesday will decide on concessions for 72 single ensuited rooms in four houses.

Council is recommending people stay out of the water at Platypus Beach almost a fortnight after dangerous bacteria was detected there.
