A Gladstone mum who admitted to weening herself off methamphetamine by using cannabis, appeared in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Friday.
Tallara Chloe Broomham, 22, pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs.
Police prosecutor Carl Spargo read the facts of Broomham’s case to the court and Magistrate Bevan Manthey.
About 3.15pm on December 18 last year, Gladstone police intercepted a Holden Commodore on French St and detained the occupants for a search.
Police searched Broomham, a passenger in the vehicle, and located a small clip-seal bag containing 1.6g of cannabis in her clothing.
Mr Manthey said he had to take into account Broomham’s six-page Queensland criminal history and three-page traffic history while handing down his sentence.
Gillis said he was on parole and was in possession of marijuana and a pipe.
He told police âI donât want to go back to jail for a little bit of weedâ.
Police saw inside the car a clip seal bag with 7g of marijuana and a brass pipe.
Gillis told police heâd paid $50 for the drugs the evening before and hadnât smoked any yet.
Gillis pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to possessing dangerous drugs and possessing a utensil.
Defence lawyer Cassandra Ditchfield said the 29 year old had remained clean since being released from jail and was determined not to go back to that lifestyle, however the stress from the separation from the mother of his children had made him turn back to marijuana.
Pholi was also found with 30 marijuana seeds and two water pipes. He said he wasn t sure of the exact amount of plants as he had just thrown the seeds and hoped they would grow. Pholi said he knew it was an offence to possess and grow marijuana but stated he wasn t hurting anyone and wasn t affecting anyone else being so far out where he was and just kept to himself. Pholi, 37, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to producing dangerous drugs, possessing dangerous drugs and possessing utensils. Defence lawyer Lauren Townsend said Pholi lived on 18 acres where he had pigs, sheep and dogs.
