Senior Sergeant Shaune English.
Mr English said TMR, Police and Gladstone Regional Council regularly met to discuss ways to improve the safety of the intersection.
âWe look at complaints that we have all received and then look at ways that we could fix it,â Mr English said.
âUnfortunately we donât have a solution yet.
âI have seen a solution, I have seen some really beautiful drawings but the road isnât big enough to justify a fly over or a four-lane road.
âItâs one of those things when if they design the road and corridor, they will have the plans for when the usage is high enough.â
Designed around the theme âStarry Nightâ, Mayor Burnett said this yearâs Santos GLNG Mayorâs Charity Ball was set to be a night to remember.
âThis is a fantastic event that brings the community together to experience a gala evening of food, wine, music and dancing, all the while fundraising for local charities,â Cr Burnett said.
âThere will be entertainment from one of Brisbaneâs top cover groups Hamilton Band, who will be supported by local musicians, while attendees can enjoy a three-course meal, silent auctions, live auctions and much more.
âMost importantly, the night is all about raising vital funds for four very worthy local organisations, who were chosen after consultation with the Mayorâs Ball committee.â
A call was made to the Gladstone Regional Council office and the operator said she feared for the parking inspector’s safety when she heard the threats Pearce was making.
Pearce’s wife made the call, however, the operator could hear Pearce in the background yelling words to the effect of, “I won’t be paying this f ing thing you scum.”
Pearce’s tirade continued and took a turn for the worst when he started making threats of physical violence against the parking inspector.
“If I see that c walking around I am going to knock him out.”
On January 18, police linked the call to Pearce and he was issued a notice to appear in court after they tracked his vehicle’s registration.
