Press release Foster parents, child protection workers, youth and non-profit organizations including Rhianna Rose Albert of Havre were honored Tuesday during a virtual awards ceremony as part of the annual Prevent Child Abuse and Neglect Conference sponsored by the Department of Public Health and Human Services. Albert received the Youth Achievement of the Year, which goes to foster or adoptive youths who exhibit a drive to be successful and make positive changes in their life. Nikey Gregg, Lolo, and Halie Yeager, Kalispell, also received the award. DPHHS and Montana Children’s Trust.

LEWISTOWN, Mont. - Over the weekend, the St. James Episcopal Church in Lewistown held a walk for child abuse prevention awareness.
April is child abuse prevention month and everyone who came out for the walk helped bring attention to child abuse.
According to DoSomething.org, it s estimated that one in seven children have experienced child abuse and or neglect in the past year.
Donations from the event are going to be used to support programs for prevention and ones that work with victims those programs are powered by the Montana Children s Trust Fund at the Department of Public Health and Human Services.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and organizations in Hill County and across Montana are using the opportunity to increase awareness about the issue, which has been more severe during the COVID-19 pandemic. Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hill County, an organization the recruits and trains community members to be advocates in court for abused and neglected children who have been removed from their homes, along with Youth Dynamics, which provides mental and behavioral health services to Montana children, are participating in Pinwheels for Prevention.
