Penhaligon s Friends receives donation from Persimmon Homes

A Cornwall charity supporting children and young people through bereavement was the recipient of the generous donation. Penhaligon s Friends has been gifted £1,000 from Persimmon Homes to help fund its specialist care packages and grief postal packs. Based in Redruth, the charity has 25 years of experience in supporting bereaved children in Cornwall through a small staff team and more than 70 volunteers. The donation comes as part of Persimmon’s Community Champions scheme, which sees the Launceston-based housebuilder donate up to £2,000 to charities and community groups in the region each and every month. Julie Parker, CEO of Penhaligon’s Friends, explained: We have always grown our service to meet local need and over the last year we have developed Grief Postal Packs to send out to children and young people who have experienced a bereavement.
