Unhappy with verdict, Hagrama Mohilary calls Floor Tests incomplete Former Chief Hagrama Mohilary says that the BTC Floor Tests were not held as per Gauhati High Court regulations, Verdict to be challenged in Court.   |  24 Dec 2020 10:04 AM GMT Kokrajhar: After facing defeat at the composite floor test at the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Kokrajhar, former Chief Hagrama Mohilary said that he will contest today s verdict in Court. Claiming that the proceedings for the test were incomplete, he complained that no proceedings in the floor test recently conducted adhered to the directions issued by the Gauhati High Court. Earlier the Gauhati High Court had issued its guidelines for conducting a composite floor test in the BTC after Mohilary had submitted a writ petition himself.

The Gauhati High Court on Tuesday has ordered for a composite floor test by December 26, which means Promod Boro will have to prove his majority. Making things worse for Boro, the order has put a stay on the appointment of the nominated members, they will not be able to vote during the floor test and cannot participate in the election of the Chief Executive Member. The Court has barred the Council from taking any policy decision.
