COVID-19 kills 90-year old

MACOMB The McDonough County Health Department this week reported the death of a man in his 90s due to coronavirus. His is the 61st COVID-19 death in the county.
The health department also reported 21 new recoveries and seven new COVID-19 cases since last week. The new cases involve four women and three men. Five of the cases are from Macomb, one is from Blandinsville, and one is from Prairie City.
Ages of the victims are listed as one in the teens, three in their 20s, one in the 30s, and two in their 40s. The new cases raise the county s confirmed count to 2,881. There are still seven active cases and 2,813 people have recovered.
Following a February survey of school districts that illustrated a persistent teacher shortage in the state, the Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools has released a policy recommendation calling for better benefits and more lenient teacher certification to reverse the trend.
