In Henry County, CPO Posateri recovered a dead bald eagle at an interstate rest area. The eagle was turned over to the USFWS where it will then be shipped to the Eagle Repository as required by law.
In JoDaviess County, Despite the state wide closure of the state park system a man from Chicago was found walking in the timber in full camouflage calling for turkeys. CPO Beltran reminded the man to stay out of the parks and follow the posted regulations.
In Rock Island County, CPO Posateri responded to a complaint of someone trespassing on private property. CPO responded to the area and located a couple on an ATV. The Aledo, IL man was cited for shed hunting without permission and his fiancé was issued a written warning.

Good to see the subs at the Braidwood Lake sectional lining the south riprap and casting in the rain.
Good to have Ryan Sutton spice up Glenbrook South’s winning bag at the Skokie Lagoons sectional with a small tiger muskie, his first muskie.

We did really well out there today. Over 100 fish. LOTS of little ones but 16 keepers. Best 5lbs. 1 at 41/4 handful of 3 1/2s and. Few 2s. Great day.
Dale Bowman Anglers are particularly primed this winter for the opener Monday at Braidwood Lake. Some will even line up Sunday night. Braidwood, the cooling lake in southwestern Will County, should be ready, too. It was stocked with its usual largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass and blue catfish in 2020. “The lake has a standing annual request for all three species, so they’ll be stocked this year, and I haven’t requested any changes,” emailed Seth Love, district fisheries biologist. “For a few years, hybrid striped bass were not stocked due to a decline in the gizzard shad forage base. Braidwood will get surveyed this upcoming October [it’s on a biennial survey rotation with Heidecke Lake], so I’ll be keeping my eye on those gizzard shad numbers for the 2022 stocking season.”
