Bucyrus City Schools name new band director Brent Carpenter to fill post after Matt Fiske s retirement BUCYRUS - An Avon Lake native has been named the new band director for Bucyrus City Schools. Bucyrus Superintendent Matt Chrispin announced in a news release late Thursday that Brent Carpenter, who grew up in the Avon Lake area and graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2015, will be coming to Bucyrus from MacArthur High School in Houston, Texas. In Houston, Carpenter served as assistant director of the MacArthur High School Jammin’ Generals, with 170 members. Mark Fiske, who has been the Bucyrus band director since 2000, submitted his resignation to the board in December.
