Redding officers identified in deadly shooting on Cypress Avenue Bridge The Redding Police Department on Wednesday released the names of the three officers involved in a fatal police shooting last month. The officers involved in the Feb. 7 shooting were officers Jeremiah Kasinger, Nate Sweeney and Brett Leonard, who also was involved in two prior fatal shootings in the past three years, according to Redding police Sgt. Danny Smetak. The three officers fired on Brooke Leann Blair, 27, of Redding after she pulled a replica handgun from her waistband, police said shortly after the shooting. The incident, as described by police, began shortly before 11:30 a.m. Feb. 7 on the south side of the Cypress Avenue Bridge.
