Dog bites: Residents may move SC | Noida News

Picture for representational purpose only. NOIDA: Troubled with the rising number of dog bite cases, a group of residents has decided to file a case in the Supreme Court next week. They said while dog bite cases are increasing in the district, neither the Noida Authority has finalised an agency for sterilisation of stray, nor is the stock of anti-rabies vaccine (ARV) always available at government health centres. They added that while there are several provisions for the safety of dogs, laws are silent on the safety of people from dog bites. Estimates suggest that there have been over 100 dog bite cases in the past 10 days from across the city. While the anti-rabies vaccine is available at private hospitals, it is costly. Each of the five shots cost Rs 250-500 at private hospitals, the total treatment being Rs 1,250-2,500. However, there is usually no choice available since the doses seem to be in short supply at the district hospital.

Scale up Covid tests, residents say as highrises turn hotspots | Noida News

Noida: Highrises in sectors 76, 119, 120, including Prateek Wisteria, Gaur Grandeur, Prateek Laurel, and places like Arun Vihar (sectors 28, 29 and 37) have been reporting between 40 and 90 cases each for the past few days. Residents have demanded that the places be sanitised and testing camps be held in areas with more cases. The Jan Shakti Sewa Samiti, a residents’ body, has written to UP CM Yogi Adityanath requesting that all hospitals in Gautam Budh Nagar be brought directly under the district administration for better monitoring of the situation. They have also suggested that community centres and clubs be used as testing facilities and for other related work.

50% Covid cases in 7x sectors points | Noida News

Noida: Data collected by Apartment Owners’ Associations (AOAs) and Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) in sectors 74-79 shows that these areas currently account for more than 50% active Covid cases in the district. Residents from 7x societies (sectors 74-79) have informed the administration that there are 332 cases in 26 highrise societies in the area. On Wednesday, Gautam Budh Nagar recorded 652 active cases and according to the data, these sex sectors account for 50.9% of those. This raises concerns over the actual number of Covid patients in Noida and according to sources, it is likely that there are over 3,000 active cases in the district as of now.
