Waupaca Woman Accused of Attempting to Burn Down Home With Three People Inside

By Mike Leischner Jul 20, 2021 | 6:17 PM TOWN OF LARK, WI (WSAU) A Waupaca woman is facing disorderly conduct, recklessly endangering safety, and battery charges after she’s accused of pouring gasoline on a trailer home in the Portage County Town of Lark while threatening the three people inside it. Carrie Larsen is said to have poured fuel on the home while saying “I’ll kill you” and adding “this is my property, I will burn it down if I want to,” while a woman and her two children were inside. Authorities were able to arrest her before any further damage could occur. A search of her person found a knife and a set of brass knuckles hidden under her clothing.

Atwater woman gets probation in attempted knife attack against deputy

According to a sheriff’s report, the deputy responded to 32-year-old Heather R. Crossen’s home for a welfare check after an acquaintance of Crossen’s reported she sent him a text message that concerned him during the early evening Nov. 26. According to a complaint that the sheriff’s office filed in Portage County Municipal Court in Ravenna, while the deputy was at the home, Crossen allegedly tried to grab a knife from a butcher’s block to attack him with it. No injuries were reported and Crossen was arrested and taken to Portage County Jail. Crossen pleaded guilty Feb. 18 to third-degree felony attempted assault and first-degree misdemeanor child endangerment involving a 2-year-old girl in the home, according to court records. The felony charge was amended down from first-degree felony assault as part of a plea deal.
