BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) â The 14th stop on the 2021 âRoad to the LPGAâ takes the Symetra Tour to Battle Creek Country Club for the eighth-annual FireKeepers
Casino Hotel Championship, which takes place August 6-8.
Officials with the casino made the announcement on Monday.

Last year, their team worked tirelessly as the first tournament back after our break due to COVID-19,â Chief Business officer of LPGA Qualifying Tours Mike Nichols said in a statement. âOur staff and athletes look forward to returning once again to Battle Creek Country Club that annually provides a unique challenge for our players and has crowned some great champions â including current No. 2 in the Race for the Card, Ruixin Liu last year.â

Battle Creek-area recovery team trains under lake ice
Battle Creek The temperature on Goguac Lake was never above freezing on a recent Sunday but for some not too cold for a swim.
Several members of Calhoun County’s Area Law Enforcement Underwater Recovery Team were under eight inches of ice and taking a look around.
“It is really nice. Once you get past the initial shock on your face, the water temperature is actually warmer than we are standing right here,” Andy Erard said, standing on the frozen lake not far from the Battle Creek Country Club.
Eight members of the team were on the ice, and some under the ice, for a couple of hours.
