Winnipeg Police has a simple message for those who are thinking about drinking and driving this holiday season: Think again.
“Our message has always been the same,” said Traffic Division Patrol Sgt. Stephane Fontaine, as Winnipeg Police announced the start of the annual Holiday Checkstop Program at a press conference Friday. “Clearly we don’t want anyone driving impaired at any time, not just during the Christmas season. But I can assure you that officers throughout the city are still actively searching and being aware of potential impaired drivers and we are actively arresting people that we catch driving while impaired.”
