DFDS adds a fourth vessel to Rosslare route

Rosslare Europort s growth to the gateway to Europe continued this week, as ferry operator DFDS confirmed the addition of a fourth vessel on its route to Dunkirk in France. Remarkably, it brings to 17 the number of direct services departing Rosslare for the continent each week. Starting on April 1, freight ferry Ark Dania will join three other DFDS ferries on the route, with a capacity for 188 truck units (made up of up to 12 driver-accompanied units and 176 trailers).

Fourth Freight-Ferry DFDS to Add to Direct Ireland-France Route Connecting Europe

Marine Industry Ferry & Car Ferry News The ferry industry on the Irish Sea, is just like any other sector of the shipping industry, in that it is made up of a myriad of ship operators, owners, managers, charterers all contributing to providing a network of routes carried out by a variety of ships designed for different albeit similar purposes. All this ferry activity involves conventional ferry tonnage, ro-pax , where the vessel s primary design is to carry more freight capacity rather than passengers. This is in some cases though, is in complete variance to the fast ferry craft where they carry many more passengers and charging a premium.
