Fans will be able to spread their season-ticket payments over four installments until the end of May. If the NFL and the Bears determine during the summer that Soldier Field will have a limited capacity or no fans at all, season-ticket holders will get a full refund or the option of rolling their payments to 2022. If Soldier Field operates at full capacity, the Bears will not allow season-ticket holders to opt out. The Bears will have mobile-only ticketing, touchless sales at concession stands and gift shops and hand-sanitizing stations throughout the stadium. Further details about tailgating, parking, entry and exits and other procedures will be made available later this year.

The Bears are promoting Bill Shuey to outside linebackers coach. He’ll replace Ted Monachino, who accepted the same job with the Falcons earlier this week.
Shuey has been with the Bears for all of Matt Nagy’s three seasons. He was a defensive quality control assistant in 2018 alongside new defensive coordinator Sean Desai; they were promoted to assistant outside linebackers coach/pass-rush analyst and safeties coach, respectively, in February 2019.
Shuey spent 10 years with the Eagles three as the team’s linebackers coach which is where he first worked with Nagy. He coached at small college West Chester and Widener from 2012-17.

A decision by the Chicago Teachers Union to refuse in-person work and instead continue teaching remotely because of health and safety concerns would constitute an “illegal strike” in the eyes of Chicago Public Schools officials, the district wrote in a letter to all teachers and staff today.
Though union leaders have been careful not to call their planned action a strike since teachers intend to keep working remotely, CPS human resources chief Matt Lyons said the collective labor action of not returning to schools, as ordered by the district, “is a decision to strike.”

Unsettling, yet unsurprising. It wasn’t a shock the Bears clung to inertia by keeping coach Matt Nagy, general manager Ryan Pace and president/CEO Ted Phillips, but the way it was explained was, and remains, a problem. Phillips’ laughable quote ”Have we gotten the quarterback situation completely right? No. Have we won enough games? No. But everything else is there,” he said is already infamous.
