‘National Nurses Week’ proclaimed in the City of DeRidder

DeRidder Mayor Misty Clanton on Thursday, May 6, proclaimed May 6-12 as “National Nurses Week” in the City of DeRidder.
The Mayor was joined by nurses with Beauregard Health System in DeRidder and Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital at Fort Polk for the reading of the proclamation at DeRidder City Hall.
National Nurses Week is recognized annually as a way to honor the nation’s indispensable nurses and their tireless commitment to the health and welfare of their communities.
Nurses spend their careers treating and comforting the sick, welcoming new lives into our world and caring for people at the end of their lives.
Monique Dixon accepts position of Maternal-Child Services Director at BHS

Monique Dixon, BSN, RN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, has accepted the position of Maternal-Child Services Director at Beauregard Health System in DeRidder, Louisiana, effective December 21st.
Dixon comes to Beauregard Health System from Ochsner LSU Shreveport in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she most recently served as a Surgery Circulator Nurse for the Level 1 Trauma Center. With ten years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), Dixon has also served as a Labor and Delivery Unit Coordinator, Charge Nurse and Preceptor at various facilities across Louisiana. “Dixon’s experience in Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum and Nursery will bring an impressive skillset and a wealth of knowledge to our health system and community,” said Kie McNabb, CNO.
