Among the signature pastries to look forward to are Amber s famous madeleines in gluten-free buckwheat and Amalfi lemon versions, canelés, pistachio cookies and the brookie a hybrid chocolate cookie and brownie recipe. New products such as the vanilla chouquette, flan Parisien with bourbon vanilla, and chocolate moelleux with sea salt will also be up for grabs
The pop-up will also offer special super-sized versions of the Amalfi lemon madeleine and a cookie flavour of the week, the latter clocking in at a whopping 24cm in diameter. These limited edition items will only be available at specific times.
50 Ground Cinnamon (Guessed, probably about 1 tbsp) Oatmeal (For coating the loaves before baking)
Instructions
Mix all of the ingredients (other than the oatmeal) together in a bowl until everything is fully incorporated. It will be quite sticky.
Cover the bowl with a teatowel or something similar, then leave out overnight. My kitchen temperature is about 18 degrees C.
In the morning, pre-heat the oven to 230 degrees C then scrape the dough onto the worktop and divide into however many loaves are required.
Roughly shape the loaves and then coat / roll in the oatmeal.
Place the loaves into lightly oiled loaf tins and then leave out to rest while the oven heats up.
Two recipes today that anyone with a sweet tooth – like me – will love.
I know I have said it a lot recently that these are good times for children to learn to cook at home, but I really do think it is one of those vital life skills that no one will ever regret learning.
I got this Madeleine recipe from Lea Linster when I did a stage at her restaurant in Luxembourg as a young chef.
She is a very accomplished chef and a great friend and inspiration to me. She has won the Bocuse d’Or – the highest award a chef can win.

March 19th. A day to wear Red! A toast to all foster fathers! Actually there are a lot of St Joseph bread recipes out there. Most recipes for the day are encouraged to use bread crumbs as they resemble saw dust commonly seen with carpenters. :)

No baking for me yesterday. However, I did make a pilgrimage to the best pastry shop in Manhattan! Rocco s.
Pasta Sardi is out of the question, my wife would not eat that.
I know I run a website but I m still very much a paper person and have a thing for note taking and nice journals, so, yeah, I really like this and could imagine giving it as a gift to an enthusiastic new baker.
The server that The Fresh Loaf is on needs to be upgraded soon, so a heads up that there may be a day or two bumpiness in late March or early April.
I m also researching what to do with TFL in the next year or so as the CMS version that this site is running is being retired. I m pretty confident that an upgrade will make the site easier to use on phones and tablets, which is great since that is what most people visit the site on now, but I haven t found replacements for all of the components used here. So I m doing a bit of looking around, hoping to keep the upgrade from being too disruptive, and hoping to bring the site more up-to-date with today s web standards.
