Warner Robins Independence Day Celebration brings excitement The Warner Robins Independence Day celebration returned this year after the pandemic cancelled it last year. July 2, 2021 WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) The Warner Robins Independence Day celebration returned this year after the pandemic cancelled it last year. The gates opened at 5 p.m. Friday, and people filled the McConnell Talbert Stadium parking lot, listening to music acts from A.J. the D.J., Leah Belle Faser, Callista Clarke and country music star Jimmie Allen. Food trucks were also on site, and the night wraps up with a fireworks display. We spoke with event attendee Demetrius Walker about how excited he was to be at the celebration.

4th of July events in Story, Boone counties: Fireworks, parades, more

Nevada: July 4 breakfast, parade and fireworks Start off the holiday with a drive-thru or dine-in pancake breakfast at the Nevada Fire Station, 935 Lincoln Hwy, July 4 with a free-will donation.  The parade will start at 11 a.m. July 4 north on Sixth Street from East Avenue, then east on J Avenue to 10th Street.  Rootbeer floats will be available at American Legion Hall, 1331 Sixth St., after the parade, costing a free-will donation. The American Legion Auxillary will serve its traditional chicken noodle dinner July 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., costing $10 for adults and $5 for children.  The July 4th fireworks begin at dusk and will originate at the east side of SCORE, 1543 Fawcett Pkwy, along 19th Street. The Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory, 1418 Fawcett Pkwy, will serve free popcorn, snow cones and bottled water before the fireworks.

Several local businesses are preparing for parties to help celebrate “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports”. Charlie Shimp is co-owner of Hazard’s on the Green in Perry. They’ll have special menu items for the Derby in addition to regular menu items. They’re encouraging everyone to dress up in Derby attire. Shimp says you can expect a great atmosphere. “We are going to have the derby on, we’ll have drinks, we’ll have signature drinks for the derby and live music starting at seven. So come out, come dressed, and get ready for a good time,” says Shimp.

Perry Dogwood Festival considers rescheduling 2021 event

Around this time of year, Georgia s National Fairgrounds are usually packed with thousands of people for Perry s annual Dogwood Festival. This year, that wasn t the case because the festival was cancelled for the second year in a row. This year would be our 32nd Annual Dogwood Festival, so it s a long-time festival. It s mainly an arts and crafts festival and we usually have around 150 vendors, said Ellen Palmer. Ellen Palmer is the president and CEO of Perry s Chamber, and she says the anticipation was at an all-time high due to last year s cancellation.
