DIXON (WREX) Stillman Valley senior Georgia Ballard is missing out on her final season with the Lady Cardinals due to a bad ankle injury. She just had surgery to repair ligament damage Tuesday, but Wednesday she was right back out on the court. In Stillman Valley s game at Dixon, the Duchesses allowed Ballard to score the first 6 points of the game, getting her to the 1,000-point mark for her career. Having surgery just on Tuesday, I was a little wobbly but I have pretty good balance so it was a task I could accomplish, Ballard said after making 3 straight shots. To be able to be given the opportunity to get my 1,000 points was something I could not be more thankful for. Especially coming from the Dixon program. All hats to them. It was truly amazing what they did for me.
