Weymouth Jubilee Clock turns orange to recognise community hub

By Vicky Nash Audience and Content Editor Weymouth s famous Jubilee Clock has turned orange. Pictures: Ros Dean/Repair Cafe Weymouth THE iconic Jubilee Clock has turned orange to recognise Weymouth’s Repair Café and the work it does for the community. Repair Cafe Weymouth is run by volunteers and offers expert repairing skills – mechanical, electrical, electronic, carpentry, sewing, jewellery and craft – to fix broken items to avoid them going in the bin unnecessarily. While events are currently suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, Repair Cafe Weymouth hopes to restart with a four-hour event on Saturday, September 11 September from 10.30am. Weymouth Town Council is lighting up the clockface throughout 2021 to raise awareness for good causes. The council aims to represent one cause or charity per month, with the clock being lit for up to three days during the month.
