BENNINGTON â Ocean State Job Lot is renovating the former J.C. Penney building here with plans to open a new store in April.
âIt is under construction, and if all goes well we will open on April 8,â said Mark Swiderski, project manager for the multi-state chain, which now has 143 stores.
In advance of the opening date, the company is expected to post signs at the Bennington Square Shopping Center informing people how to apply for jobs.
A typical store in the Rhode Island-based chain has about 30 full and part-time employees, he said.
