Nova’s Ben & Liam to broadcast live atop a billboard this week
Fresh from a round of tennis with Novak Djokovic, Nova Adelaide duo Ben Harvey and Liam Stapleton have shared details of their next stunt in a ratings bid to make headlines.
Ben & Liam will be covered in velcro and suspended from a billboard located on Rydges South Park, Adelaide, on Thursday, where they will broadcast the show live.
The boys are billing the idea as “a world radio first”.
“We can’t believe we convinced the bosses to give us a billboard to do whatever we want,” Harvey and Stapleton said. “We thought instead of a picture of us, why not chuck our actual selves on there to give people the authentic experience.”
Jodie Oddy to be back on radio next week
Ben & Liam show for the week.
Oddy had for years been part of Adelaide’s #1 FM Breakfast show,
She did not have the chance to farewell listeners, and ARN said it can’t comment on the reasons for her departure due to confidentiality.
From Monday, however, Oddy will be filling in for news journalist Taylee Jones while she is on leave.
Ben Latimer, head of programming at Nova 919, said the network is pleased it can give Oddy the chance to say goodbye to her legions of South Australian fans.
“With Taylee on holidays, we’re excited to be able to have someone of Jodie’s calibre to fill in,” he added. “Jodie is a talented broadcaster and we’re delighted to have her join the team as news anchor next week.”
Irene Hulme promoted to head of national content at NOVA Entertainment
Nova Network’s music director, Irene Hulme, has been promoted into the new role of head of national content for the wider NOVA Entertainment.
Hulme has held senior content roles at all three major commercial radio networks, Southern Cross Austereo (SCA), Australian Radio Network (ARN) and NOVA.
NOVA Entertainment quickly scooped her up, with chief programming and marketing officer, Paul Jackson, saying at the time he was delighted to get her back.
In March, Hulme broadened her role to group music, production and DAB director, and now it’s expanded again to national head of content.
