Sikorsky Credit Union Helps Raise $37,000 For Homeless Shelter

December 28, 2020 STRATFORD, CT – December 23, 2020 - Sikorsky Credit Union partnered with Milford law-firm, Harlow, Adams, and Friedman, P.C. to organize the 9th Annual Milford Trick or Trot Virtual 5K to benefit The Beth-El Center in Milford. Subscribe The Beth-El Center is a homeless shelter and soup kitchen that provides comfort to the Milford community through food programs, shelter, and support services. More than ever, families are facing hardships and challenging times in local communities. It is so wonderful to have community support in our efforts to alleviate hunger and homelessness, mentioned Jennifer Paradis, Executive Director of the Beth-El Center. The family-friendly 5k takes place each year with the goal to raise money and awareness of hunger and homelessness in Connecticut. Although the race was held virtually this year, it was still a huge success with over $37,000 raised. All proceeds went directly to the Beth-El Center.

Written by Jocelyn Murray Beth-El Center homeless shelter and soup kitchen in Milford received a $37,030 donation from the proceeds of the 9th Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk fundraiser held virtually on October 31- November 2, 2020. On December 24, 2020, event organizers and sponsors Harlow, Adams & Friedman, P.C. and Sikorsky Credit Union presented the donation to the Center’s Executive Director Jenn Paradis. “As we expand our services to respond to the community’s needs due to COVID-19, we’re so appreciated of this overwhelming support as shown by the amazing participation in the Trick or Trot event,” says Paradis. “We’re very grateful to Sikorsky Credit Union and Harlow, Adams and Friedman P.C and all those who sponsored, donated and ran or walked in the Trick or Trot to ensure that we can continue to meet the needs of those in our community who are struggling.
