Man sells forged e-passes for inter-dist travel, held

There seem to be many exploiting people’s vulnerabilities and making money out of illegal activities even during the
pandemic. A similar incident occurred in the city following which the crime branch recently raided the house of a man running a tour and
travel business, and arrested him for selling forged e-passes for inter-district travel.
The accused has been identified as Dhanaji Muralidhar Ganganmale (29) of Bhekrai Nagar,
District’s COVID death toll crosses 9,000-mark

With 12 people succumbing to
COVID infection in the past 24 hours, the district’s death toll stood at 9,008. There were 482
fresh cases reported, which took the tally to 3,75,786. About 428 patients were discharged upon
recovery. So far, 3,62,055 people have battled the virus.
Among the new cases, 228 are in
Pune Municipal Corporation (
PMC)
limits, 108 are in Pimpri-Chinchwad, 123 in rural and 22 in cantonment limits, respectively, said Dr Bhagwan Pawar, district health officer.
There are 2,075 active cases in
Pune city, out of which 204 are critical. There are 296 patients undergoing oxygen treatment in various city hospitals. On Saturday, 3,742 tests were conducted by PMC, which took the cumulative total to 10,00,013, said Dr Ashish Bharti, PMC health chief.
