New Delhi, July 1 The Enforcement Directorate (ED) today said that PNB Bank fraud accused Nirav Modi’s sister Purvi Modi has “remitted” over Rs 17 crore from her bank account in the UK to that of the Indian Government. Officials in the ED said the development came after Purvi and her husband Maiank Mehta were allowed pardon from criminal proceedings in lieu of extending help in the probe. In an official statement, the ED said, “On June 24, Purvi Modi intimated the Enforcement Directorate that she had received the knowledge of one bank account in London in her name, which was opened at the behest of her brother Nirav Modi and that the funds did not belong to her.”
