New storybook walk at Sheriffâs Meadow Sanctuary
The beloved book âThe Gruffalo,â by Julia Donaldson, with illustrations by Axel Scheffler, will be the next book at Sheriffâs Meadow Sanctuaryâs storybook walk, which began last Saturday afternoon, April 19. According to a press release from Sheriffâs Meadow Sanctuary, âThe Gruffalo” is the story of a clever mouse who takes a walk in the woods and outsmarts the animals he encounters who would like to eat him by telling them about the Gruffalo. Storybook Walk at Sheriffâs Meadow Sanctuary
Sheriffâs Meadow Foundation and the Edgartown Public Library are partnering to launch a series of storybook walks for children at Sheriffâs Meadow Sanctuary, beginning on Saturday, March 13, at 9 am. For the first book, Elyce Bonnell, childrenâs librarian at the Edgartown library, has selected the story, âThe Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear,â by Don and Audrey Wood. âIt’s a fun book for all ages!â Bonnell says in a press release. Take home craft bags related to the story are available in the children’s room take out window at the Edgartown library, which is open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm.
