Swindon dancer starts dream job running street dance classes for young students

A young Swindon dancer has bagged her dream job as she joins Revolution Performing Arts to run street dance classes. Beth Cooper, 24, lives in Rodbourne with her boyfriend Jamie and their dog, Rou. She was just four years old when she joined a ballet class and six when she found her niche in Irish dancing. Coming from a large Irish family, she went to classes with her cousin and went on to become a south west champion. When she won a performing arts scholarship in Wiltshire, she learned different styles of dance, contemporary, hip hop, jazz and tap as well as having drama and singing lessons.

This brings the total amount of funding received so far in Swindon from the fund to £460,688 Our cultural, creative and heritage sectors have been some of the hardest hit by Covid-19 and I was pleased in July last year when the Government announced an unprecedented £1.57 billion support package to see them through the crisis.

SOUTH Swindon MP Robert Buckland revealed that his constituency will receive £133,6888 in government funding. This is part of the second round of the Culture Recovery Fund and brings the total amount of funding received so far in Swindon to £460,688. Mr Buckland said: Our cultural, creative and heritage sectors have been some of the hardest hit by Covid-19. I was pleased in July last year, when the government announced an unprecedented £1.57 billion support package to see them through the crisis. I am delighted that announce we have been awarded an additional £133,688 in total. Swindon performing arts academy crosses counties with expansion into Gloucestershire

THE founder of Swindon’s Revolution Performing Arts has taken over a Gloucestershire company and is now delivering classes to young people in the county. Fi Da Silva Adams lives in Wanborough and already runs classes across Swindon. Both Fi and her team of trained teachers work with hundreds of children every week, including online sessions organised during lockdown. She has now taken over the former Kaleidoscope Creative Workshops which took place every Saturday at Pineholt Community Centre on Bird Road in Gloucester. These classes have been running successfully thanks to performing arts expert Marie Cartwright for several years with children aged four to 18 years attending from across Gloucester and Cheltenham.
