Over 100 Rolla high school seniors recognized as Show-Me Scholars/Tech Masters

One hundred thirty of Rolla graduating high school seniors have earned “Show-Me Scholars/Tech Master” honors by fulfilling a pledge to take more rigorous classes during high school.
Students who completed the program received Show-Me Scholars/Tech Master medallions and cords at a Wednesday event to wear at their upcoming graduation ceremonies to highlight their accomplishments.
The local business community also funded 30 $1,000 scholarships to award to selected graduates.
“You might be going to a four-year college, a community college, a technical school, apprenticeship, the military or straight into the workforce,” Rolla Area Chamber Executive Director Stevie Kearse told the students. “Whatever you decide, you are better prepared because you did take more challenging classes in high school.”

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, Tennessee (HFHMCTN) has elected four new members to the affiliate’s Board of Directors. Joining the board are Julie Brown, Luke Dahlen, Amelia Magette, and Mark McNulty.
“We are very pleased to welcome our new members to the Board. They have already demonstrated through their many hours of volunteer service at the committee level how they can contribute their unique abilities to the Habitat mission,” Board President Lynn Stokes said. “They bring lots of energy and fresh ideas to the Board, and we look forward to working with them.”
The new members of the Board of Directors will assume their official duties in January 2021. New officers this year include Board President Lynn Stokes, Board Vice President Charlie Ussery, Board Treasurer Debbie Frazier, and Board Secretary Kevin Underwood.

Legends Bank hosts Clay Shoot Fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County

Clarksville, TN – Legends Bank hosted a Clay Shoot fundraiser at Cross Creek Clays on Friday, November 20th, 2020 that benefited Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, Tennessee.
This Game Changer event included 4-person teams with many local sponsors from the community and is also the first fundraiser event Legends Bank and Habitat for Humanity have partnered together on.

Thanks to the participants and sponsors, $12,000 was raised that will be used to help build a new house for a family in need.
