Pune: Stringent curbs are in place in the district and restrictions imposed on public gatherings, amid the increase in Covid cases.
At a marriage, a maximum of 50% of hall capacity is permitted. Many people have been forced to relocate their marriage venues after new restrictions were announced to check Covid. Akshay B., a man to get wedded told the Hindustan Times, “We have rescheduled the date and changed the venue to a small hall at Kothrud. 100 guests including close relatives are invited and Muhurat is rescheduled to 11:30 am.”

Pune: The citizens should be responsible to avoid a repeat of scenario during peak of Covid, Mayor Murlidhar Mohol said yesterday.
Infected patients have been rising over the last few days. Mohol told the Indian Express, “It is a cause for concern as active case count dropped to 1,383 in the first week of February while it has increased by 2,000 in a short span.”

Pune: A case was registered against a BJP leader and two others for not following Covid protocols at a marriage reception in the city.
Police said that over 1,000 guests had arrived for the marriage reception of Dhananjay Mahadik (the leader)’s son on the evening of February 21 at Laxmi Lawns in the city’s Magarpatta region. It might be taken into account that authorities in the city had put a limit of 200 people at social gatherings including marriage ceremonies and receptions in view of increasing Covid cases.
