French fine wine thieves throw bottles at cops in car chase, get away

French wine thieves began throwing their pricey score at pursuing police cars Tuesday morning in a costly escape strategy, the Guardian reported.
The thirsty thieves hit the luxury Domaine de Rymska hotel in the eastern French countryside, about 85 miles north of Lyon, according to the Guardian. The hotel’s wine list includes many expensive vintages, including at least one that goes for 16,000 euros (almost $20,000) per bottle.
After making off with an estimated $425,000 worth of wine, the thieves were pursued on country roads by the hotel’s owner, the Guardian reported. The owner called police while following the robbers, and the cops took up the chase at a main road.
