SRC offers Pharmacy Tech Program in Macomb

MACOMB The Spoon River College Office of Community Outreach is offering a Pharmacy Technician Program in Macomb this Fall. This affordable 12 week program prepares students for a career as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting. Classes will be held Wednesday Evenings, August 25th –November 17th from 6-10pm at the Spoon River College Macomb Outreach Center. In Illinois, obtaining a state license allows people to work as a pharmacy tech for two years. After two years, they are required to become certified by passing a national exam, administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). This program at SRC will provide students with the basic skills necessary for an entry level career as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting.
