Ottawa men arrested after TRI-Dent investigation

June 24, 2021 Daninius G. Sepkus (L) Eric Motozapo (R) – Photo LaSalle County Jail OTTAWA – Two Ottawa men are facing drug charges after an investigation by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team.   On Tuesday night LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 24-year-old Daninius G. Sepkus and 22-year-old Eric Motozapo, both of Ottawa on LaSalle County Arrest Warrants.  On several occasions TRI-Dent alleges Sepkus delivered purported LSD and Motozapo delivered purported LSD and Ecstasy to agents.  Both are being held at the LaSalle County Jail on a $1,000,000 bond. Sepkus is being charged with one (1) count of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (LSD) – Class X Felony and Motozapo is being charged with two (2) counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (LSD and Ecstasy) – Class X Felony.

Ottawa woman arrested after stabbing incident

February 23, 2021 Latrice Wright – Photo LaSalle County Jail OTTAWA – An Ottawa woman is facing battery and deadly weapon charges after an investigation into an alleged stabbing Monday morning. The Ottawa Police Department say they were called to the 2100 block of Somerset Drive where they found a male victim with apparent stab wounds. Authorities took 37-year-old Latrice Wright of Ottawa into custody and charged her with 2 counts of Aggravated Battery/Use of a Deadly Weapon and a Violation of Bail Bond Conditions.  She was taken to the LaSalle County Jail being held on $150,000 bond. Michigan man held on million dollars bond for gunfight with Oglesby Police

December 31, 2020 Peter Douglas Bergsma – Photo LaSalle County Jail OTTAWA – A Michigan man is being held on one million dollars bond after a Tuesday night incident where he allegedly opened fire with a pistol on Oglesby Police Officers on the campus of Illinois Valley Community College.   In court on Thursday 35-year-old Peter Douglas Bergsma of Grand Rapids was charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle after authorities say he took an Oglesby squad car from the scene.    Authorities say he suffered a non-life threatening bullet graze wound to the head during the altercation outside of an RV that was parked at IVCC.  No officers were wounded in the incident, and authorities have not disclosed why Bergsma was in the area.
