Photo by Scott Newton) The final chart of 2020 brings few surprises as Fiona Apple and Billie Eilish hold the top of the chart, with Adrianne Lenker close behind with her single, anything. Lana Del Rey and Matt Berninger slide past Sharon Jones and Blu DeTiger, while New Order end a 10-week chart run entering the Chart Show Hall of Fame at #7. They are one of the many acts who released singles this year but delayed their albums and tours until 2021, so it might not be long before they are back on the chart.

Congrats to Heartless Bastards and beabadoobee for reaching the Chart Show Hall of Fame, which might be the final HOF entries for 2020 unless New Order can hold onto another week with Be A Rebel, that slides to #11. Billie Eilish, Sharon Jones, and Blu DeTiger all move up this week as Jade Bird and Foo Fighters drop down the chart making room for Lana Del Rey and Matt Berninger. Minnesota s Freaque holds onto the bottom of the chart for the second week along with Perfume Genius Jason. UK rising star Arlo Parks debuts at #18 with her single, Hurt, a month ahead of the release of her first full length album, Collapsed Into Sunbeams.

Fiona Apple, New Order, and Billie Eilish are the biggest gainers gathering votes and coming close to edging out beabadoobee and Heartless Bastards who climb towards Chart Show Hall of Fame status. Adrianne Lenker holds onto #1 with anything as the Chart Show Hall of Fame welcomes IDLES for their single, Model Village.

This year might be remembered as a year of great covers which you'll hear in the posthumous release from Sharon Jones featuring the classic Mickey Newbury song, "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)" which debuted this week.
