The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has apologised to the Catholic Church within and outside Nigeria and Bishop Callistus Onaga of Enugu Diocese for the unruly behaviour of his adherents following his reported “disappearance”.
Mbaka tendered the apology on Sunday at the Adoration Ground, Umuchigbo in Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State during a service.
It will be recalled that members of the AMEN had on May 5 damaged the residence of Bishop Onaga following the absence of Mbaka at the weekly programme at the Adoration Ground. His absence was termed to mean he had been kidnapped. At the residence of the Bishop, the supporters went wild, damaging the building.

The Bishop of Enugu announced on Thursday a week of prayer in atonement and reparation following the desecration of the city’s cathedral, reportedly by followers of a priest of the local Church.
“On 5th May, the followers of Fr. Camillus Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria violently broke into the Diocesan Cathedral Church and desecrated the Holy Altar of sacrifice,” Bishop Callistus Onaga of Enugu said in a May 6 statement obtained by ACI Africa.
“Over and above this, they brutally vandalized the Diocesan Bishop’s residence, the Cathedral parish house and the secretariat building complex.”

Mbaka stated that the Bishop did not kidnap him asspeculated, but that the meeting he thought was a private one turned out to be a predetermined meeting with many consultants in attendance.

The Spiritual Leader of the Catholic Adoration ministry in Enugu State, Rev Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has narrated what transpired when he was invited by the Enugu Catholic Bishop, Most Rev Callistus Onaga.
Mbaka stated that his grouse with Onaga was that the bishop did not call him one-on-one but held a meeting where other participants were bragging that they would deal with Mbaka and the Adoration has been closed down.
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, on Friday, claimed that it has uncovered those behind the plot to punish Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, AMEN.
DAILY POST recalls that there was heavy protest in Enugu by Mbaka’s followers on Wednesday following his reported disappearance.
He later reappeared and said he was serving a punishment placed on him by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga.
In a statement made available to journalists, the OYC President-General, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike claimed that apart from undue pressure from the Federal Government, certain personalities, including two governors from the Southeast contributed to Mbaka’s ordeal.
