The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council, OYC, has again waded into the one-month suspension slammed on the Charismatic Enugu priest, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka. Mbaka’s Adoration Ministry, Enugu Nigeria, AMEN, is currently under lock and key as he served the 30 days ban placed on him by the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Bishop Calistus Onaga. In a statement obtained by DAILY POST on Thursday, OYC said the current ordeal of Fr. Mbaka could work against the entrenched peace in the Coal City State. Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, President-General of OYC said in the statement that recent happenings around the priest have vindicated its warnings.

He explained that the closure was to allow him embark on a Private prayer retreat that would end on 10th of June, 2021. Mbaka who made this known in a statement, titled: “Notice to all adorers” also urged the Adoration faithful to observe the retreat with prayers, fasting and charity at home according to their capacity as they used to do during January break, until he returns.

The ministry sent out a notice early Tuesday morning informing members that Fr. Mbaka was proceeding on a one-month private prayer retreat. It was, however, silent on whether it was in obedience to the Bishop’s order. But a message to that effect obtained by Tribune Onlinein Enugu, on Tuesday, read in part “Our Spiritual Director, Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka wishes to inform his beloved adorers that he has embarked on a private prayer retreat that will end on 10th June 2021.
