A priest of the Diocese of Enugu who founded Adoration Ministry resurfaced Wednesday, hours after his followers stormed the episcopal residence demanding to know the priest’s whereabouts.
The followers of Fr. Ejike Mbaka caused destruction of property at the local bishop’s residence May 5.
Fr. Benjamin Achi, communications director of the Enugu diocese, described the alleged disappearance of Fr. Mbaka as “misinformation” in an interview with ACI Africa.
“He has resurfaced at 2:40 p.m. after a mob attacked the bishop’s house this morning destroying lots and lots of things,” Fr. Achi said in reference to Fr. Mbaka.

Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka, the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu has revealed how he was detained by the Catholic Church.
Rev. Mbaka immediately after he regained his freedom yesterday evening, told his parishioners that he was held hostage by the Enugu Catholic Church leaders.
Mbaka who was declared missing by his parishioners for failing to preside over adoration prayers on Tuesday night which spilled over to Wednesday,May 6 morning, without any details of his whereabout, was released aftermath of an organized protest by his parishioners, who stormed the Enugu Catholic Bishop’s house, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga residence at Independence layout, Enugu.

The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has suspended the spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka from church activities for one month for meddling in political issues, especially with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
According to reports, Mbaka was asked to go on a suspension effective May 3, 2021, after being summoned by his Gracious Callistus Valentine Onaga, the diocesan bishop.
It would be recalled that Mbaka had asked Buhari to resign or be impeached over his inability to tackle growing insecurity in the country, a development that sparked controversy between him and the presidency.

Hours after the Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu State, Rev Father Ejike Mbaka, resurfaced on Wednesday after being incommunicado, the Catholic Diocese of Enugu suspended the controversial cleric for one month.
SaharaReporters learnt from sources in the Catholic Diocese that the Reverend Father was suspended not because of his political missiles towards the Muhammadu Buhari government.

A source stated that Mbaka was suspended rather for allegedly inciting his congregation to lead a protest and vandalising the residence of the Enugu Catholic Bishop, Most Rev Callistus Onaga and for showing support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
