Mississippi Power teamed up with the City of Moss Point and some other groups to work with older teens on job search skills, career awareness, and the motivation of making better choices.
Nine businesses came together to discuss ways to provide better opportunities for young people in Jackson County with a focus on workforce development and education.
Life skills, mock interview preparation, and vocational opportunities were specific topics at the Workforce Development event. Workforce Development Partnership Director of Outreach Eric Dickey said, “We have invited numerous of individuals particular in the workforce development such as hair dresser, barber, pipe fitter, plumber, state troopers, law enforcement rather, as well as motivational speakers to help the young people understand that many of them have had the same stories that many of them are encountering today and yet they have become every successful in their career path.”
