PhilSys Step 2 now in assisted-barangays in Kalinga

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, June 1 (PIA) - - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) moves to Step 2 of the Philippine Identification System or PhilSys ID national registration in assisted barangays in the province.
PhilSys Step 2 registration is on-going for residents of Cabaritan, this city, Liwan West in Rizal and Taga in Pinukpuk who have completed the Step 1 registration.These assisted barangays are those with high poverty incidence and no internet connectivity.
Step 2 involves validation of documentary requirements and capturing the biometric information of the registrant such as fingerprints, iris scan and facial recognition.
The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Thursday, May 27, advised the public to exercise precaution when registering for the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) due to several fraudulent sites and pages posing as representatives of the PhilSys. PSA has compiled a list of fake sites and
PSA said a total of 10,092,022 registrants have finished this step as of May 21.
Step 2 registration to the PhilSys involves capturing registrant’s biometric information such as their iris scan, fingerprint scan, and front-facing photograph and the validation of information at their local registration centers.
“We owe this milestone to the enthusiasm and support of our citizens to the PhilSys program and the hardwork of the PSA Field Offices in making sure that registration operations roll out smoothly and safely in their respective provinces,” Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician of the PSA’s PhilSys Registry Office, said in a statement.
